I don’t know about you, but since this whole Covid-19 thing started, I had to come up with some everyday hot drinks. If you know me, you’ll know that I am a coffee girl (I got this from my momma lol). I’ll take coffee before tea anytime, but lately, I have been drinking a lot of ginger tea. It’s simple and tasty and affordable 🙂 So I am sharing with you today how I make my ginger tea. Feel free to try it anytime! Here is what you need to make my ginger tea recipe:
Ingredients:
- Fresh Ginger (Of Course!) – I would take 2 whole root
- 1-2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1-2 Anise star
- Ginger powder (about a teaspoon)-Optional
- Cinnamon powder (as desired)
- Nutmeg powder (as desired)
- Lemon zest or a little bit of lemon juice (Optional)
- Water
- Sugar
Preparation:
- Start by washing your ginger and cut them in small pieces and put them in a blender with some water. Blend them finely.
- Next depending on how strong you want your tea and how big of a teapot you have, you can pour as much of blended ginger in your teapot(I usually store the extra in the fridge).
- Add some water
- Then add, cinnamon sticks, anise stars, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder and lemon zest or lemon juice (if you want).
- Mix them up with a spoon.
- Set tea to a boil(5-7 minutes).
- Use a fine strainer to strain the tea(Optional) (I, personally like to strain my tea, but my husband likes his tea just as is sometimes)
- Grap a big cup and pour some tea!
- Sit back and sip and enjoy!
And that’s it my people! Very simple, right?
